FAQ

  • The best way to see if we are a good fit for each other and your project is to meet in your home and discuss your plans, timelines, and budget. It is helpful if you have inspiration photos to share as it is sometimes difficult to put visions into words. Your initial in-home consultation is offered at no charge and upon its conclusion, you will be emailed an estimate within two weeks.

  • If the proposal is accepted, we will sign a contract and collect a 5% scheduling deposit to begin the design process. Before we order materials an additional 50% will be collected. Once all materials have been selected and ordered we will be able to determine the best start date for your project based on our availability and delivery timelines.

  • Linda and all of ICDC’s contractors are fully licensed and bonded.

  • Technically both. Linda started by flipping houses and quickly developed a passion for bringing forgotten-about spaces back to life. While that was clearly a passion, she recognized the importance of managing projects firsthand. After developing relationships with a few amazing sub-contractors, she became a general contractor and has never looked back. Linda is still the head designer on all projects and has excellent Project Managers to provide the oversight to ensure each project is completed to the highest of standards our clients have come to expect from IC Design Co.

    • Access to an interactive platform designed to connect our team, clients, and subs so everyone can stay updated throughout the project.

    • Your house will be noisy and dusty, we will do our best to keep the dust down however it is sometimes more than people expect. It is very important that if you need a quiet space to work or live that your house will not be the best place for that during your renovation and we encourage you to find an alternative.

    • Your project manager will be in constant contact with you and the sub-contractors to ensure the project is progressing to our standards

  • We prefer to only work with our contractors as we cannot guarantee the work of those we are not familiar with.

  • We charge a 30% overhead + $125/hr for design work. Your initial design is included in our overhead fee but any redesigns are charged hourly.

  • A typical payment schedule is as follows:

    • 5% scheduling deposit at contract signing

    • 40% to begin material procurement

    • 30% at beginning phase of construction

    • 25% at completion of project

  • Typically between 8-12 weeks but some exceptions do happen
